Suspect Sought in Fatal Shooting at 310 Berry Road

November 24, 2008 - Charges are pending against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a woman at 310 Berry Road about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 23).

The suspect, Cameron James Pitre (b/m, DOB: 7-6-80), faces a murder charge and is still at large.

The victim, Ashley Hardy, 24, of Houston, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. A. Odom and Officer J. L. Coffelt reported:

Pitre, the ex-common-law husband of Ms. Hardy, came to her apartment under the pretext of returning her cell phone. When Hardy opened the back door of her apartment Pitre forced his way into the residence, shot her, then fled the scene in a burgundy 1997 four-door Chevrolet Lumina with Texas license plates KLD-320.
