Suspect Sought in Fatal Shooting at 715 Quitman

October 18, 2008 - Houston police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted and charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 715 Quitman about 12 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 17).

The suspect, Damien A. Perez (H/m, DOB: 4-27-85), is charged with murder in the 248th State District Court. Perez is still at large and considered armed and dangerous. A photo of suspect Perez is attached to this news release.

The victim, 59, suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Countryman and J. T. Parker and Senior Police Officers S. Straughter and D. Shorten reported:

Officers responded to shooting call at 715 Quitman and found the victim had been shot. Further investigation determined Perez entered the business armed with an assault type rifle, shot the victim, and then fled the scene.
