Suspects Sought in Fatal Shooting at 7000 North Freeway
October 26, 2008 - Houston police homicide investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating two suspects wanted in the fatal shooting of a woman at 7000 North Freeway service road about 9:10 a.m. on Saturday (Oct. 25).
The victim, identified as Irenena Yvette Ashford, 38, of Houston, suffered gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.T. Parker and Senior Police Officer T. Tyler reported:
Officers responded to a shooting call at the E/Z Loan business and found a female employee (Ms. Ashford) deceased from gunshot wounds.
There were citizens in the area of the business at the time of the robbery and investigators are asking them to come forward to provide any information they might have.
The suspects were driving in a red or maroon Chevrolet stepside pickup truck with chrome bedrails on both sides and a regular sized cab. The suspected gunman was wearing a dark colored hooded jacket with the hood over his head when he entered the business, shot Ms. Ashford and escaped with an undetermined amount of money. He then got into and left the scene in the waiting Chevy truck driven by a second suspect. A photo of the truck is attached to this news release.
Investigators hope someone will recognize the truck by its description and contact them with information. Anyone with information on the wanted vehicle or suspects is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
