Man Found Dead at 1003 Avenida De Las Americas

September 19, 2008 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man found at 1003 Avenida de Las Americas about 8:40 a.m. today (September 19).

The victim, 26, who showed no signs of injury, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Anthony and Senior Police Officer Roger Chappell reported:

The victim, who is registered as a Hurricane Ike evacuee, went to sleep in his cot at the George R. Brown Convention Center around 10 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 18) and was found deceased this morning. Further investigation determined he had a previous medical condition.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
