Fatal Shooting at 12800 Coulson

April 13, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the shooting death of a male at 12800 Coulson about 7:30 a.m. on Saturday (Apr. 11).

The victim, David Escobar, 27, of Houston, died upon arrival at Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital after he was shot in the head and crashed his vehicle into a tree.

Houston Police Department Homicide Division Sergeant C. T. Mosqueda and Senior Police Officer X. E. Avila reported:

Mr. Escobar was driving east in the 12800 block of Coulson when he was shot.  He lost control, struck a tree and was ejected from his vehicle. 

During the investigation, Houston police learned that an unknown assailant or assailants had shot Escobar. The motive for the shooting is not known.

The investigation is continuing.
