Motorist Sought in Auto-Pedestrian Fatality at 9400 Bellaire

April 22, 2009 - Houston police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a motorist involved in a fatal traffic accident in the 9400 block of Bellaire about 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday (Apr. 21). 

The male victim, 64, suffered head and facial lacerations and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and A. Alaniz reported: 

According to witnesses, the victim was walking across the middle lane of Bellaire towards Kendalia when he was struck by a green Toyota Camry traveling eastbound on Bellaire.  The Camry then fled the scene. 

The investigation is continuing.
