Suspect Identified, Charged in Shooting at 3100 Cleburne

August 13, 2009 - Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the shooting of eight people at 3100 Cleburne about 8:30 p.m. on July 22.

The suspect, Albert Walker Mondane (b/m, DOB: 6-29-90) is charged with engaging in organized criminal activity in the 263rd State District Court.  A photo of suspect Mondane, who has an alias of “A-Walk,” is attached to this news release.

The victims, ranging in age from 14 to 21, were taken to Ben Taub General Hospital and Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment of non-fatal gunshot wounds.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer M.F. Waters and Officer J. Sosa reported:

The shooting occurred on the campus of Texas Southern University near a parking garage during a “Trey Day” concert.  Several shots were fired by several unknown suspects, resulting in the wounding of eight people. 
Further investigation developed information that identified Mondane as one of the shooters and he is currently at large. 

This case is being investigated by the HPD Homicide Division with assistance of the Texas Southern University Public Safety Department.
