Investigation Into Fatal Shooting at 12300 Chimney Rock

August 13, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male at 12300 Chimney Rock about 2 a.m. today.

The male victim, 17, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sgt. T.D. Griffin and Officer R.P. Houghton reported:

The victim and two relatives were at a stop light at Chimney Rock and West Airport Boulevard when a vehicle stopped beside them.  A passenger in that vehicle fired several shots at the victim’s vehicle, striking the victim once in the chest.  The victim drove a short distance before he died from his wounds.  No one else was injured and there are no suspects.
