Suspect Arrested in Shooting at 3100 Cleburne

August 17, 2009 - A suspect has been arrested in the shooting of eight people at 3100 Cleburne about 8:30 p.m. on July 22.

The suspect, Albert Walker Mondane who has an alias of “A-Walk” (b/m, DOB: 6-29-90), is charged with engaging in organized criminal activity in the 263rd State District Court. 

The victims, ranging in age from 14 to 21, were taken to Ben Taub General Hospital and Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment of non-fatal gunshot wounds.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer M.F. Waters and Officer J. Sosa reported:

The shooting occurred on the campus of Texas Southern University near a parking garage during a “Trae Day” concert.  Several shots were fired by several unknown suspects, resulting in the wounding of eight people. 
Further investigation developed information that identified Mondane as one of the shooters and on Friday (Aug. 14) Mondane surrendered to HPD homicide and TSU investigators.
