Investigation Into Attempted Murder/Suicide at 3437 Ella Lee

August 17, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man and apparent suicide of another at 3437 Ella Lee Lane about 2 p.m. on Sunday (Aug. 16). 

The deceased male, Raymond Blake Hawk, 21, of the above address, suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.  The other male, Eugene Blake Hawk, 59, Raymond Hawk’s father, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in stable condition. 

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant P. Muñoz and Officer D. Gunter reported: 

Hawk and his son were at their residence when they got into an argument and Eugene Hawk called police.  Hawk’s son then shot at him several times and struck him in the head.  Eugene Hawk was able to run to a next door neighbor’s house for help.  Patrol officers responded to the scene and found Raymond Hawk lying on the floor inside their residence, deceased.  A gun was recovered at the scene. 

The investigation is continuing.
