Fatal Traffic Accident at 2700 West Tidwell

February 9, 2008 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 2700 block of West Tidwell about 10:10 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 6).

The victim, Tyrona Yvette Mitchell, 37, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J.M. Chambers and Officer I. Jefferson reported:

Ms. Mitchell was driving a black Nissan Altima westbound on West Tidwell when, for unknown reasons, she lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree on the center median.  Paramedics pronounced her dead.  There were no other persons in her vehicle.

At this time, there are no known witnesses to the accident and no other known vehicles involved.
