Holloway, were not injured.  Senior Officer Karmout was sworn in as an officer in May 1991, Senior Officer Moore in July 1985, Officer Rodriguez in April 2007 and Officer Holloway in December 2002.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Countryman and Officer K. Lopez reported:

Patrol officers were dispatched to a suspicious person with a weapon call and received information about a suspect carrying a rifle and walking into an apartment.  The officers attempted to make contact with the suspect.  The suspect exited the apartment holding a rifle.  Officers gave him numerous verbal commands to drop the rifle.  Instead, the suspect refused to comply with the commands and raised the rifle in the direction of an officer.  Fearing for the officer’s safety, the officers discharged their weapons at the suspect.

As is customary in officer-involved shooting incidents in the city limits, the case is being investigated by the HPD Homicide and Internal Affairs Divisions and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
