Suspect Arrested in Fatal Stabbing at 6500 Rusk

January 21, 2008 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man found at 6500 Rusk about 5:35 p.m. on Sunday (Jan. 18).
 
Jose Luis Martinez (H/m, DOB: 12-18-90) is charged with murder in the 230th State District Court.

The identity of the victim, believed to be about 30 years old, is still pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.
 
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Blain and Officer E. Schmidt reported:
 
The victim was found deceased at the dead end of 6500 Rusk Street, just west of the intersection of Rusk and South 66th Street.  He had been stabbed multiple times.

Further investigation developed Martinez as the suspect in this case. He was taken into custody and questioned on Monday evening (Jan. 19). Charges were filed the following night.
