Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 414 Maxey Road #3403

July 14, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 414 Maxey Road #3403 about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday (July 11).

The victim, Lamont Malone, 36, of the above address, suffered gunshot wounds to the abdomen and shoulder and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead the next day (Sunday).

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C.T. Mosqueda and Senior Police Officer X.E. Avila reported:

Mr. Malone was alone in his apartment when four to five black males forced their way inside and shot him several times.  Malone was discovered by patrol officers who were called to the apartment.  At this time, robbery appears to be the motive for the shooting.
