Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 13200 Cullen

July 16, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 13200 Cullen about 12:15 a.m. on Wednesday (July 15).

The victim, Huu Khanh Phung, 53, of Houston, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant L.A. Flores and Senior Police Officer X.E. Avila reported:

Witnesses told police a man got out of a minivan and approached Mr. Phung at the intersection of Cullen and Almeda Genoa.  Witnesses then reported hearing several gunshots and saw the minivan and Phung’s silver Chevrolet Cobalt head northbound on Cullen.  Phung was found lying in the middle of the street.  Both the suspects’ and victim’s vehicles have been recovered. 

Three black male suspects are being sought.  The first is described only as being in his late teens to early 20s, under 6 feet tall, with dark brown skin, a small afro haircut and wearing dark clothing.  The second is in his early to mid 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, with a slim build, two to four inch afro haircut, and wearing blue jeans.  There is no detailed description of the third suspect.
