Man Fatally Shot at 2700 North Freeway

July 17, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in the 2700 block of the North Freeway (Interstate Highway 45 North) about 1 a.m. today (July 17).

The victim, 33, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. D. Griffin and Senior Police Officer B. D. Evans reported:

The victim was traveling southbound in the 2700 block of the North Freeway near Patton when, at some point, he was struck by gunfire, slumped over into the passenger side and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle struck a concrete barrier wall, lost a right front tire, bounced off the concrete barrier and then came to a stop. Witnesses traveling in the area at the time stopped to help the victim and found he had been shot.

At this time, there is no description on a suspect(s) or suspect’s vehicle.
