Fatal Traffic Accident at 9800 Hempstead Highway

July 20, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 9800 Hempstead Highway about 6:10 p.m. on Friday (July 17).

The male victim, 51, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Usher and Officer J.R. Brown reported:

The victim was driving a green Plymouth Voyager southbound through the parking lot of the Northwest Mall when he struck the north side of the mall.  No other injuries were reported.

The investigation is continuing.
