Investigation into Baby's Death Following Incident at 10813 Lone Brook

March 5, 2009 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results on a baby boy who died at an area hospital after he was found unresponsive at 10813 Lone Brook Drive about 10:40 a.m. on Feb. 26.

The baby, nine months old, was pronounced dead at Texas Children’s Hospital the following day.  His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant N. T. Ruland and Officer B. W. Nabors reported:

The infant was at a babysitter's house when he reportedly vomited while being fed and then stopped breathing.  The babysitter called 911 and administered CPR until paramedics arrived.  The baby was taken to the hospital where doctors ran several tests and determined the baby had a fractured skull.  Just after 3 p.m. the next day, the baby was pronounced dead.

The investigation is continuing.
