Investigation into Shooting at 6112 Dashwood Drive

March 23, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a male at 6112 Dashwood Drive at 2:50 p.m. on Friday (Mar. 20).

The male victim, 17, was shot in the lower torso by an unknown male suspect.  The victim was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital where he successfully underwent surgery.  He remains hospitalized at this time.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. A. Odom and Senior Police Officer J. L. Coffelt reported:

The victim was standing with the male suspect in a business parking lot at the corner of Dashwood and Ashcroft when the suspect shot him in the lower left torso.  The victim ran into the business asking for help and collapsed on the floor.  The unknown suspect fled on foot across the street into the Bellaire Gardens apartment complex.
