Investigation into Beating of Man at 5909 Ranchester

March 31, 2009 - Houston police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man critically beaten and injured at 5909 Ranchester about 5:45 a.m. on Monday (Mar. 30).

The unidentified victim suffered serious trauma to his body and was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. McStravick and Officer T. Andrade reported:

Officers and HFD paramedics responded to an apartment complex at 5909 Ranchester and found the victim unconscious in the common area of the complex.  He had suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital.  Witnesses said several black and Hispanic males were seen fleeing the area at the time of the beating and attack on the victim.

Investigators are asking for assistance in identifying the victim and suspects.  They are told the victim might have a first name of Jesus and a nickname of “Chuy.”

At 1:30 p.m. TODAY (Tuesday, Mar. 31), an investigator in the HPD Homicide Division will be available to answer questions in this case in the lobby of HPD Headquarters at 1200 Travis.
