Fatal Traffic Accident at 1600 Brittmore

May 14, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 1600 Brittmore about 11:50 p.m. Wednesday (May 13). 

A male, 16, was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital.  His identification is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Runyan reported: 

A Houston Police Department Ford Crown Victoria was traveling south on Brittmore en route to a call when it struck the side of a Chevrolet Suburban that had pulled out in front of the police vehicle from a side street.  Two passengers in the suburban were ejected and were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where one was pronounced dead and the other was treated for non life-threatening injuries.  The Houston police officer also suffered non life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.  The driver of the suburban was not injured.
