Suspect Sought in Fatal Shooting at 13030 Northborough
October 16, 2009 - Houston police have arrested three suspects and are asking for the public’s help in locating the fourth and final suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a male at 13030 Northborough on Sept. 13.
The three suspects in custody are Travis Lyons (b/m, DOB: 9-28-87), Cameron Rainer (b/m, DOB: 5-11-90), and Brandon Walton (b/m, DOB: 7-3-91). A fourth suspect, Lawrence Charles Curry, (b/m, DOB: 7-1-77), remains at large. All four males are charged with capital murder in the 180th State District Court.
The victim, Ernest Wayne Steadman, 29, of the above address, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.J. Brooks and Senior Police Officers R.W. Chappell and M.F. Waters reported:
Mr. Steadman answered a knock at his apartment door and stepped outside. The suspects made demands, shot Mr. Steadman and then fled the scene.
Lawrence Charles Curry (also known as “Chuckie” and “B.D.”) is described as being about 6 feet tall, weighing about 250 pounds, and having a muscular build. A photo of Curry is attached to this news release. Curry was last scene in north Houston, possibly in the Acres Homes or Greenspoint areas. He is also believed to have ties to Fairfield, Texas.
