Fatal Traffic Accident at 5000 South Lake Houston Parkway

October 23, 2009 - Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in fatal traffic accident in the 5000 block of South Lake Houston Parkway about 3:20 a.m.

The suspect, Nadia Elizabeth Muñoz 9H/f, DOB: 4-4-89), faces charges of two counts of intoxication manslaughter.

Two male victims, a driver and his passenger, ages unknown, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities are pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Sorge and Officer R. White reported:

The female driver of a black Nissan Maxima was traveling northbound on South Lake Houston Parkway when she was struck and rear ended by a black Jeep sports utility vehicle, driven by Muñoz. The Jeep then veered to the left into oncoming traffic and struck a red Chevrolet Lumina traveling southbound. The males in the Lumina were killed. Muñoz was detained for questioning at the scene, while the driver of the Maxima fled the scene. Hit and Run investigators contacted the driver of the Maxima, who agreed to return to the scene, however, she did not. She is wanted at this time.
