Investigation into Male's Death at 61 Riesner Street

September 11, 2009 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a male found at 61 Riesner Street about 8:55 a.m. on Thursday (Sept. 10).

The male, 57, was found unresponsive and transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M W. McStravick and Officer T. A. Andrade reported:

The male was a prisoner found unresponsive in his jail cell. He was treated by jail medical personnel and then taken to the hospital. An autopsy will determine his cause of death.

As in all in-custody deaths, this case will be investigated by the HPD Homicide and Internal Affairs Divisions, as well as the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
