Fatal Shooting at 5100 Browncroft

April 1, 2010 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in the 5100 block of Browncroft about 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday (March 31).

The victim, 20, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Rubio and Officer J. Johnston reported:

A patrol officer was flagged down by witnesses who told him the victim had been shot at an apartment complex at 5107 Browncroft. The officer found the victim lying in the street and he was then transported to the hospital by HFD emergency personnel.

Further investigation determined the victim had a confrontation with several unknown suspects in the common area of the apartment complex. One of the suspects produced a gun, shot the victim, and then fled the scene on foot.
