Suspects Sought in Fatal Shooting at 8054 South Gessner

April 6, 2010 - Houston police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating two suspects wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of a man at 8054 South Gessner about 4:30 a.m. on March 15.

One suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 30s, approximately 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with an average build, short black hair and a thin mustache. He walks with a limp. A second suspect, described only as a Hispanic male in his 30s, is about 5 feet 10 inches to 5 feet tall and has a slim build. He has short black hair and a thin mustache. He was last seen wearing a gold chain.

Composite sketches of both suspects are attached to this news release.

The victim, Manuel Rangel Aguirre, 47, of Houston, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Dillingham and Senior Police Officer R. Figueroa reported:

Patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting at 8054 South Gessner and found the victim, Mr. Aguirre, deceased in the parking lot. Witnesses reported that Aguirre, who was wearing a security guard uniform but was not on duty at the time, was attempting to get into his vehicle when he was approached by two unknown males. A struggle ensued and Aguirre was shot. Witnesses report that the Aguirre’s gun may have been taken from him during the struggle. His weapon was not recovered at the scene.

The two suspects fled in either a silver or gray Nissan Altima or Maxima.
