Suspects Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 11400 Carvel

April 19, 2010 - Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the fatal shooting of two men in the 11400 block of Carvel about 10:50 p.m. on April 1.

The suspects, Walter Francisco Martinez (H/m, DOB: 2-19-91) and Jose Vasquez (H/m, DOB: 9-26-86), are both charged with capital murder. Martinez is charged in the 228th State District Court and Vasquez in the 230th State District Court.

The victims, Suu Nguyen, 24, and Alexander Lobos, 30, both of Houston, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Padilla and Senior Police Officers B. Evans and J. Robles reported:

Both victims were found dead inside a vehicle parked in the 11400 block of Carvel. The victims had been shot and the suspect(s) fled the scene in one of the victims’ vehicles. That vehicle was later recovered.

Further investigation developed Martinez and Vasquez as suspects in this case. Both were arrested without incident on Friday (Apr. 16).
