Composite Released in Fatal Shooting at 1100 Langwick


August 11, 2010 - Houston police have released a composite sketch of a person of interest wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of a female found at 1100 Langwick about 9:10 a.m. on Saturday (Aug. 7).

The person of interest is described only as a Hispanic male in his late 20s or early 30s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with an average build. A composite sketch of this individual is attached to this news release.

Suspect


The victim, Shatavia Anderson, 14, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound to the back and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Bush and Officer C. Sturdivant reported:

Officers responded to a call of a female down in a field. Police and fire department personnel arrived and discovered the female deceased with at least one gunshot wound.

Investigators learned Shatavia was last seen between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. on Saturday when she was walked to the corner of Greens Road and Wayforest by a friend and a relative of the friend. Shatavia crossed Greens Rd. on Wayforest and walked alone to her apartment on Langwick. During that walk, she was confronted by an unknown suspect who shot and robbed her.

Further information was developed when a witness came forward and provided investigators a description of a male considered a person of interest at this time.
