Investigation Into Fatal Shooting at 6113 Gulf Freeway


August 17, 2010 - A man shot at 6113 Gulf Freeway about 8:55 a.m. on Saturday (Aug. 14) has died from his injuries.

The victim, 35, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition. Doctors pronounced him dead on Sunday (Aug. 15). His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Foresic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants J. De La Cruz and A. Carrillo and Senior Police Officers H. Chaves and X. Avila reported:

Eastside patrol officers responded to a person down at the above location and found the victim had been shot. Further investigation and witness statements determined several gunshots were heard and then the victim was found unresponsive. HFD emergentcy personnel then took him to the hospital.
