Fourth Suspect Arrested in Shooting at 4550 North Braeswood


August 27, 2010 - Charges are pending against a fourth suspect arrested in the shooting of a woman at 4550 North Braeswood about 10:30 a.m. on May 5.

The suspect, Damian Ricardo Flores (H/m, DOB: 9-13-83), faces a charge of attempted capital murder. Flores is in custody and identified as the shooter in this case.

Three other suspects have been arrested and charged with solicitation of capital murder. Richard Andrew Gutierrez (H/m, DOB: 9-17-77), is charged in the 262nd State District Court, Michelle Cabrera Gaiser (w/f, DOB: 11-20-72) is charged in the 337th State District Court and James Steven Lowery (w/m, DOB: 2-14-83) is charged in the 179th State District Court.

The victim, Yvonne Stern, 52, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound while walking to her vehicle at the above address. She was treated and released from a local hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants J. Brooks, C. Cegielski and Senior Police Officer A. Palos reported:

Ms. Stern’s shooting was the result of a planned murder-for-hire plot. Further investigation identified Flores as the shooter in this case and on Tuesday (Aug. 24), he was arrested on an unrelated charge. Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation and the expectation more arrests will be made, no further details can be provided at this time.

The investigation is continuing.
