Wallace arrived at a residence in the early morning hours, armed with a pistol. As he had done on a previous occasion, a male resident ordered Wallace to leave, but Wallace refused and both men got into an argument. As Wallace tried to get the pistol out of his waistband, both men struggled and, at some point, a shot was fired. Wallace was struck and died at the scene.
