Fatal Traffic Accident at 1000 Pineloch

July 14, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 1000 block of Pineloch about 5:05 a.m. today.

The victim, Bernard Sandner, 62, of Houston, was transported to Clear Lake Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Francois and Senior Police Officer D. Harwell reported:

Mr. Sandner was driving eastbound on Pineloch and stopped at the intersection of El Camino Real to make a left turn, when witnesses saw Sandner slump over the steering wheel and the vehicle suddenly accelerate.  The vehicle accelerated out of control onto a grassy, tree-lined area until it crashed into a tree.

The investigationg is continuing.
