Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 2800 Smith


July 16, 2010 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 2800 Smith about 2:10 a.m. today (July 16).


The victim, Oscar Salvador Fierro, 23, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.  He was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital.


HPD Homicide Division Sergeant D.A. Ferguson and Senior Police Officer R.P. Martinez reported:


Mr. Fierro was leaving Club Plush, at 2700 Milam, with friends when a fight broke out with another group of men at the corner of Milam and Drew.  The fight continued westbound on Drew, across Louisiana and to the intersection of 2800 Smith and Drew.  While the fighting continued, gunshots were heard in the direction of Smith and Dennis, one block north of Smith and Drew.  A Hispanic male in a white Ford F-150 was seen shooting in the direction of the males.  After the shots were fired, Mr. Fierro was found lying in the street.  A second male victim, 20, was found in the parking lot behind the club with a gunshot wound to the right arm.  He was trasnported to Ben Taub General Hospital. 


The suspects are described only as two Hispanic males driving a 1999 to 2005 white Ford F-150, crew cab with tinted windows.
