Suspects Charged in Fatal Shooting at 1118 Adele

March 26, 2010 - Charges have been filed against three suspects arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 1118 Adele about 5:45 a.m. November 19, 2009.

Judist Lamond Broussard (b/m, DOB: 7-31-84), Brian J. Ware (b/m, DOB: 12-7-59), and Donald Wayne Strong (b/m, DOB: 4-7-69) are all charged with capital murder in the 337th State District Court. All three are accused in the death of Enrique Velasquez, 25, who suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant E. Cisneros, Senior Police Officers J. Selvera and D. Vasquez reported:

Mr. Velasquez was leaving his home for work when he was approached by Strong who was armed with a weapon. Strong then shot Velasquez, who died at the scene. A witness told police the suspect then fled on foot and was last seen southbound on Norhill Street. Velasquez’s father, who was waiting in his vehicle for his son, was not harmed.

Further investigation developed information that identified Broussard, Ware, and Strong as suspects in this case. All three admitted to their involvement and were taken into custody without incident.

The investigation is continuing.
