Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 8624 La Porte Road

May 10, 2010 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 8624 LaPorte Road about 10:30 p.m. on Friday (May 7).

The victim, Javier Tufino Belmont, 43, of Houston, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Odom and Senior Police Officer L. Lovelace reported:

Patrol officers responded to a shooting at the Michoacan Night Club and found Mr. Belmont had been shot by an unknown male suspect while inside the club.

The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male, 25 to 30 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 140 pounds and with a dark complexion. He was wearing a white muscle shirt, faded blue jeans and a white ball cap. He has a black rosary tattoo around his neck and the name “Marcos” tattooed on his upper right arm.

The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.
