Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 4700 Wenda May 25, 2010 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 4700 Wenda about 10:35 p.m. on Monday (May 24). The victim, Everette Crockett, 20, of the above address, suffered a gunshot wound to the upper left torso and was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Countryman and Officer K. Lopez reported: Patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the Cullen Park Apartments and found Mr. Crockett deceased inside a vehicle in the complex parking lot. According to witnesses, Crockett was involved in an earlier disturbance with a neighbor. As a security guard tried to detain Crockett, the men got into a dispute, during which the security guard shot Crockett. No charges have been filed at this time and the investigation is continuing.
