The victim was driving a red Ford Explorer southbound on Barrington where the street curves sharply to the west and turns into Windswept Lane.  The driver failed to make the turn and continued south, through a guard rail.  The vehicle then went through the concrete freeway sound barrier and continued southbound across the lanes of the Southwest Freeway service road, where it came to rest on the far south shoulder of the service road.  The vehicle then caught fire.  No other persons or vehicles were involved in this incident.
