Investigation into Fatal Stabbing at 900 Richmond Avenue

November 8, 2010 - The fatal stabbing of a man at 900 Richmond Avenue about 7:25 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 7) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The deceased male, 36, suffered a sharp force injury and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

A second male (store owner), 35, was not injured in this incident.

HPD Homicide Division Officers M. Khan and N. Wackman reported:

Patrol officers and HFD emergency personnel responded to a stabbing call at the above location.  Further investigation determined the deceased male had stolen some beer from a store.  The store owner then confronted the male outside the store.  Both men got into a physical fight and, at some point, the store owner stabbed the male.
