Fatal Traffic Accident at 3900 Elysian Street

November 22, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 3900 Elysian Street about 3:40 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 20).

The victim, Luis Armando Maldonado Arita, 32, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Morgan and Officer A. Michon reported: 

Mr. Arita was driving a silver Honda Accord northbound in the 3900 block of Elysian at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle.  The Honda struck a light pole and then split in half.  Arita died at the scene. 

The investigation is continuing.
