Investigation Into Male's Death at 3420 West Orem


November 29, 2010 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man found at 3420 West Orem about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 28).

The victim is described only as a black male.  He was dresed in blue jeans, a white T-shirt with print on the front and back, and black sandals.  He was found in an advanced state of decomposition with no apparent wounds.  His identity and cause of death are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Williams and Officer M. Khan reported:

A customer of the convenience store at the above location notified the owner that a male, who appeared to be deceased, was inside of a tan Chevrolet extended cab pickup truck in the parking lot.  Further investigation and witness statements determined the truck had been parked in the lot since Friday (Nov. 26).

The vehicle, which appeared to be used as a work truck, was not reported stolen.
