Investigation Into Child's Death at 1900 Canterbury Street
October 29, 2010 - Houston police are investigating the apparent accidental drowning of a child at 1900 Canterbury about 3:15 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 28).
The male victim, 4, was transported to Texas Children's Hospital where he later died. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. McGray and Officer B. Oxspring reported:
The four-year-old boy's grandmother had been watching him and his two siblings inside the family's home. At some point, the boy went out the back door unnoticed and was found in the pool. Family members pulled him from the pool and performed CPR until HFD emergency personnel arrived to take him to the hospital.
The investigation is continuing.
