Suspect Charged, Wanted in Fatal Stabbing at 3130 Mangum

Houston police are asking for the public's help in locating a suspect wanted in the fatal stabbing of a male at 3130 Mangum about 1:30 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 5).

The suspect, Jesus Castaneda (H/m, DOB: 3-13-85), also known as Jesus Castaneda-Rodriguez, is charged with murder in the 232nd State District Court.  Photos of Castaneda are attached to this news release.

The male victim, 43, suffered a stab wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B.E. Roberts and Senior Police Officer R.A. Moreno reported:

The victim and Castaneda were visiting a group of friends at the above address.  The group began drinking and partying when Castaneda and his friend, the victim, began arguing.  During the argument, Castaneda fatally stabbed the victim, killing him.  Castaneda then placed the victim's body near a trash dumpster at the back of the apartment complex before fleeing on foot.
