The female victim, 81, was transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital where she was pronounced dead.  Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Bearden and Senior Police Officer A. Taylor reported:

The driver of a tan 2003 Dodge pickup truck, with his wife and son as passengers, was traveling west on the North Loop and took the Hempstead Highway exit ramp.  The driver failed to stay in his lane and struck and crossed over a left curb line.  The truck then traveled about 200 feet and struck a concrete support pillar.  The 71-year-old male driver and male rear seat passenger (son), 37, were taken to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital in unknown conditions.  The front seat passenger (driver's wife) was taken to the hospital where she later died.

No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation continues.
