Fatal Shooting at 7650 Moonmist Drive


September 23, 2010 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a home invasion suspect at 7650 Moonmist Drive about 7:45 a.m. today (Sept. 23). 

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.C. Padilla and Senior Police Officer R.L. Bolton reported: 

Two male suspects pried open the door to an apartment at the above address and pushed away a loveseat that had been pushed against the inside of the door.  Once inside, one suspect pointed a pistol at the victims.  One of the victims, fearing for his and his family’s safety, shot one of the suspects in the chest.  Both suspects fled the apartment.  The wounded suspect feel about 25 yards from the apartment and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The wanted suspect is described only as a Hispanic male at this time.
