Fatal Traffic Accident at 6800 Lawndale

September 27, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 6800 block of Lawndale about 2:45 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 26). 

The victim, Hector Valeriano Montalvo, 29, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Calley and Officer L. Ho reported: 

Mr. Montalvo was driving a silver Chevrolet Impala northbound on Lawndale and failed to stay in his lane.  His vehicle then struck and went through a bridge guardrail and fell about 21 feet into the bayou.  The HPD Dive Team responded to the scene and, after a brief search, recovered the vehicle in the bayou.  Montalvo was found inside the vehicle deceased. 

The investigation is continuing.
