Investigation into Male's Death at 10701 West Bellfort

April 4, 2011 - Houston police are investigating the death of a man found at 10701 West Bellfort about 11:50 p.m. on Sunday (April 3).

The male victim, age unknown, suffered blunt force trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pendiing notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Officers R. Luhan and L. Carballo reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a person down call at the above location. When officers arrived, they learned there had been an altercation between several patrons from a nearby bar. At some point, one of the males (the victim) was struck with a baseball bat and a second male was run over by a vehicle. The victim died at the scene and the second male was transported to an area hospital in an unknown condition.

The unknown suspects fled the scene in a possible black Chevrolet Equinox.
