Corey Trevon Perry (b/m, DOB: 11-30-93) is in custody and charged with capital murder in the 178th State District Court.  One other suspect, Detone Lewayne Price (b/m, DOB: 12-9-92) was arrested on August 10 and is also charged with capital murder in the same court.  Photos of both suspects are attached to this news release.

Both are charged in the the death of Salem Saif Al Mazrouei, 28, of the above address, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Chandler and Senior Police Officer M. Miller reported:

Mr. Mazrouei and his father were unloading their vehicle in front of their apartment when they were approached

by Price and Perry.  Perry pulled out a pistol and both suspects then demanded property from Mazrouei and his father.  While the two suspects were robbing them, Mazrouei and his father attempted to flee.  As the victims were running away, Perry shot Mazrouei several times.  The suspects then fled in the victims' vehicle.  The vehicle was later recovered unoccupied.

Further investigation led to the identifications of Price and Perry as suspects in this case.  On August 10, Price was arrested.

On Saturday (Aug. 13), Perry was arrested by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force and confessed to his involvement in the death of Mazrouei.
