Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Death at 6002 Lyons

December 15, 2011 - Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the death of a man found at 6002 Lyons about 5:10 a.m. on January 15, 2011.


Bernave Elizondo, (H/m, DOB: 4-12-56) is charged with murder in the 209th State District Court. A photo of suspect Elizondo is attached to this news release.

Elizondo is accused in the death of Patrick Borrego, 40, of Pasadena. Mr. Borrego suffered sharp force wounds and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Carrillo and Senior Police Officer H. Chavez reported:

Northeast Patrol Division officers responded to a person down call and found Mr. Borrego in the parking lot of the 7 Rojo Bar. He was then taken to the hospital by HFD emergency personnel.

Further investigation identified Elizondo as a suspect in this case. On April 1, Elizondo was charged with murder and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On Tuesday, (Dec. 13) Elizondo was arrested without incident.
