Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 1230 Teal


February 7, 2011 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 1230 Teal about 5 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 5).


The suspect, Quentin Jerome Bell (b/m, DOB: 3-16-82), is charged with murder in the 338th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Willis Petty, 29, of Houston. Mr. Petty suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. A photo of suspect Bell is attached to this news release.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Burton and Officer M. Brady reported:

Mr. Petty had recently begun to date a female, who lives at the above location. Bell, who was three children with the female, became jealous. Bell got into an argument with Petty and, at some point, shot Petty several times and then fled the scene. Bell later turned himself in to police.
