Fatal Shooting at 11000 Homestead

February 21, 2011 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man following a traffic accident at 11000 Homestead about 3:25 a.m. on Sunday (Feb. 20).


The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.T. Parker and Senior Police Officer S.R. Straughter reported:

Patrol officers were dispatched to a hit-and-run traffic accident. Upon arrival, they discovered the incident involved a shooting. Further investigation revealed the male victim was driving a gray Toyota Solara southbound in the northbound lanes of Homestead and was involved in an accident with another vehicle. After the accident, an unknown male suspect began shooting into the victim's vehicle, striking the victim. HFD paramedics arrrived and pronounced the male dead at the scene. At this time, there is no information regarding the suspect nor how he left the scene.

It is believed several motorists witnessed this incident. Investigators are requesting any witnesses to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
